A little bit about me and how it all began.
I qualified as a podiatrist in 2009 and graduated from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh in 2010, later completing my Master’s degree in Podiatry through distance learning from the same university. Since then, I’ve gained experience working in Northern Ireland, Scotland, and San Francisco, CA, which has given me a broad understanding of different healthcare settings and approaches to patient care.
Before focusing full-time on podiatry, I spent ten years working part-time in childcare, experience that has proved invaluable when treating children and families in clinic.
I founded Activefeet in 2011 as a small home-visit podiatry service and renting a room from Blackstone Physiotherapy in Carrickfergus and by 2012 I had my first clinic space, a small room above a beauticians across the road from Whiteabbey Hospital. It was modest but perfect for me. It marked the beginning of an exciting journey.
As the clinic grew, I moved Activefeet to Monkstown Village Centre in 2015, where we now have three clinic rooms and a wonderful team of podiatrists providing professional, patient-focused care to the local community.
In March 2025, we came back to Carrickfergus and proudly created and expanded the company to include six-room wellness clinic in Carrickfergus, creating space to deliver a wider range of health services in a calm, welcoming, and professional environment.
Rebranding under the Activefeet Wellness & Podiatry name, we now work collaboratively with a range of trusted healthcare professionals. Including Minor Surgery NI with Dr. Cupples, Elite Physiotherapy, Sports massage with Dean Adams, Core & Calm reformer Pilates. All committed to putting patients at the heart of everything we do.
My approach has always been rooted in providing personalised, compassionate, and evidence-based care, helping people move comfortably and confidently in their daily lives.
Outside of work, I’m supported by my wonderful husband Andrew and our three children: Katie, Hannah, and Luke who keep me happily busy and remind me every day of the importance of balance, family, and wellbeing.
