It is very important that we look after our feet. We can do little things everyday to ensure that our feet are well looked after and kept in healthy condition.
Treatment
- wash your feet regularly with warm soapy water
- dry your feet well, especially in between the toes
- use a footfile to remove dry skin on the bottom of the feet and heels
- use moisturiser on your feet after showers or bath, avoid in-between toes
- if you have trouble reaching your feet, place a plastic bag on the ground and squeeze moisturiser onto the bag. Rub your feet on the plastic bag and using the bottom of each foot rub the opposite foot
- check your footwear for wear and tear, also small stones inside the shoes
- wear clean cotton socks and throw away any hosiery which is too tight or with holes
